Summer Enrichment Programs for K - 8th Grade Students at The Brashear CARES Center
9 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
Breakfast and Lunch are served daily.
Summer Enrichment activities:

Hilltop Urban Farm: All Grades will learn what it takes to grow in an urban setting and get to eat some of what they grow.

Venture Outdoors: will offer a variety of indoor STEM activities for Grades 2 through 7.

STEM Coding Lab: Focus on teaching students in Grades 3 - 8 introductory practices of coding and computer science, as well as digital literacy and safety.

Tech25: Want to learn how to become a DJ or host a podcast? This one is for you! Grades 3 through 8.

Carnegie Mellon University Math Project: Mathia for grades 4 through 8th graders who are heading to high school.

Fun Math Program: Mondays/Wednesdays Grades 3 - 8 Learn fun ways to enjoy Math. This program ends with a Math Competition at the end of the summer.

Physical Activity: Arlington Rec, Spray Park, McKinley Park, Transverse Park, and Ream Swimming Pool

Brashear led Arts and Crafts, Read-a-Thon, and scavenger hunts.

Field Trips: Kennywood, UrbanAir, Carnegie Museum, Science Center and more!
Applications are being accepted through June 10th for the Summer Programs 2023. Please note that enrollment during the regular school year does NOT guarantee a placement in the Summer Program. You must apply for your child to be considered for this program. Parents of students accepted into the program will be notified by June 15, 2023.
